Peer Tutoring

The  at Mohawk College is designed for first year students who would like to receive mentorship from upper year students, and is currently available for students at the main campus. Peer tutors provide support primarily with first year subjects for students in 2-3 year diploma programs. Students can access up to three hours of peer tutoring per week.

 

Academic Support

Located in the  on Fennell campus, the  and the  at Mohawk College offers a variety of programs to help students with their academic writing and verbal communications.  Writing support and peer tutoring is also available at the IAHS and Stoney Creek campuses. The Learning Support Centre is a space that houses five areas that support student academic learning. Each area is facilitated with a peer-to-peer, student leadership model. These areas are: Content Peer Tutoring, Writing Help, Math Help, Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS), and Workshops and Events.

 

Library Services

Mohawk College has  at the Fennell, IAHS, and Stoney Creek campuses. The libraries offer multiple services for students including borrowing services, interlibrary services, an APA guide, writing skills guide, quick reference guide, and a research survival guide.

Residence and Housing

On-Campus Housing

Mohawk College's  offers apartment style accommodations for students at the Fennell campus. Residence allocation operates on a first-come, first-served basis and students not initially accepted will be placed on a waiting list. Each unit includes 2 private bedrooms, a small kitchenette and a shared washroom.  are available. Building amenities include:

  • Laundry facilities

Each apartment comes furnished and includes internet access and local telephone services. Residence rates vary depending on year, and payment plans are available. Mandatory  are an additional cost. 

Students who require special accommodation in residence can fill out the residence application form using the . There is a spot under Medical, Accessibility, and Special Consideration section to indicate any special accommodations that are needed. Students must also submit appropriate documentation to support their request.
