Health Services

Algonquin College provides confidential, student-centred . At the  and  campuses, the clinic is staffed by family physicians and registered nurses. The  clinic is run by a nurse practitioner. 

 

Counselling Services 

Algonquin College offers Counselling Services at the , , and  campuses for any student who may be experiencing stressful events in their life. Throughout the academic year, counselling services offers  in various areas of study skills such as: managing stress and test taking skills.

 

Academic Support 

The  provide resources for students to support their academic and personal goals.  The  on Ottawa Campus provides support for students in English, math, and computer skills, and additional services such as one-on-one or small group coaching.   is available for students who are having academic difficulties in their program. Algonquin College has  at their three main campuses. Each library offers various resources for students including databases, journals, e-books, and e-videos.

Residence and Housing

On-Campus Housing

Algonquin College’s  offers suite style residence accommodations for students at the Woodroffe campus. Application for residence occurs on a first-come, first-served basis until all rooms are filled and remaining students are placed on a waiting list. Suites include 2 private bedrooms, a shared washroom and a shared kitchenette. A  of a sample room is available. Building amenities include:

  • Laundry facilities

All rooms come furnished and include internet, local telephone service, and cable television. Residence rates vary per year and term.  are a mandatory additional cost and operate on a declining balance system. Payment plans are available for residence fees.

Algonquin College offers several barrier-free rooms for students requiring special accommodations.  Additionally,  and personal care services (non-medical assistance) is available 24 hours a day for 8 month terms for students with physical disabilities living on campus. Students who require special accommodation are required to submit documentation during the residence application and to contact the Centre for Accessible Learning on campus.
