McMaster University’s offers residence to 3,600 students in 12 traditional style residence buildings. Residence is not guaranteed to first year students and operates on a lottery system. Approximately 3,000 spaces in residence are reserved for first year students. McMaster University offers themed, co-ed and single gender floors, with the majority of first year students being placed in double rooms. Residence units include single and double rooms with shared or communal washrooms. All buildings include:
